About the role
We are seeking a motivated and experienced individual to help safeguard children and vulnerable people. The successful candidate will direct and supervise police activity within a multi-agency environment, working closely with partner agencies to ensure the best outcomes for those at risk.
In this role, you will provide visible leadership and make informed decisions in the best interests of children and vulnerable individuals, working within statutory safeguarding frameworks and the National Decision Model. You will assess and manage safeguarding risks, direct police activity, and ensure appropriate responses are delivered through effective partnership working.
Working within a multi-agency environment, you will collaborate with safeguarding partners to improve public safety and service delivery, representing Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary at a range of strategic and operational meetings, discussions and conferences.
You will advise on complex child abuse investigations, develop investigative strategies, and ensure safeguarding actions are effectively communicated and progressed. The role also involves providing specialist advice and guidance on a range of safeguarding matters, including child and adult safeguarding, domestic abuse, honour-based abuse, female genital mutilation (FGM), child sexual exploitation (CSE), and missing persons.

Essential Qualifications:
Educated to QCF Level 4 OR work experience deemed to have brought the post holder to a comparable level.
PIP2 accreditation.
Essential Experience:
We ask candidates to have experience in a multi-agency environment with experience of participating in multi-agency meetings and also be capable of presenting information to meetings.
It is essential you have experience in report writing and communication skills, e.g. the production of clear, concise and accurate records and reports.
Experience in evidence gathering including that gathered in an interview type setting.
To be computer literate and a competent keyboard user.
