Lancashire Constabulary is looking for a Catering Assistant to support the preparation and service of meals, ensuring agreed methods and portion controls are followed.
Key Responsibilities:
- To support the Kitchen Team Leader in delivering the catering function within the specific catering facility.
- To undertake food preparation duties for all service offerings provided by the catering function, ensuring that food is served fresh and held at temperatures and times to meet food hygiene regulations and is ready for servicing at the allocated meal service times.
- To ensure that all food served is of a high quality, mindful of portion control, meal content and presentation
- To always serve and present meals and beverages in a friendly and courteous manner, promoting a warm and friendly atmosphere
- To undertake temperature monitoring, recording relevant information for mandatory documents

Skills and Experience:
- Knowledge and experience of working in a busy kitchen environment.
- Ability to read and understand written instruction, health and hygiene notices in relation to food preparation, food storage and service delivery.
- Experience in preparing food to meet quality, nutrition and cost.
- Experience of working in a customer focused environment.
Vetting and Medical:
Please be aware, as a condition of your appointment you must undergo and pass Recruitment Vetting (RV). Please be aware there is a minimum 3 year UK residency requirement for Recruitment vetting and you must be 18 years old at the point of applying. Successful applicants will also be subject to a medical assessment.
