Days: Monday – Friday. Working flexibly between 7am and 7pm.
Job Description/Your Role
The primary function of this role is to process Disclosure and Barring Services (DBS) requests, on behalf of West Yorkshire Police, assisting employers to make safer recruitment decisions in order to protect children and vulnerable adults.
The main responsibility of the role is to evaluate, interpret and analyse complex data provided by the Data and Information Research Officer, relating to DBS applicants from multiple force computer systems. You will prepare chronological reports and make timely decisions as to the relevance of information in accordance with national Quality Assurance Framework and local processes.
This work is transactional, and you will be expected to meet office productivity targets.
You will need:
Essential:
- Willingness to undertake and ability to successfully complete IT courses required for the role.
- Practical experience of IT packages including database use and interrogation.
- Is able to demonstrate research and analytical skills using them to evaluate information as an aid to making an informed decision.
- Is able to demonstrate a good standard of written and verbal communication.
- Knowledge of the Data Protection Act 2018 and Human Rights Act.
- Ability to pass aptitude tests at entry level.
- Ability and willingness to travel for business purposes.
- Ability and willingness to work flexibly in order to support the work of the Department.
