Review Retention & Disposal (RRD) Assistant
Location: Hybrid/Northallerton
Contract: Permanent
Hours: Part time - 28 hours per week. Flexible working hours but must include Tuesdays.
Salary: Scale 3 £25,242 - £26,703

The Opportunity
We're looking for an RRD Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will review operational police information held on Niche (North Yorkshire Police's Records Management System), ensuring records are managed in line with relevant legislation, Codes of Practice, and national and local retention requirements.
You will assess records based on risk and retention criteria, making decisions on continued retention or recommending disposal. You will also provide advice and guidance to internal and external stakeholders on retention requirements, system functionality, and related processes.
This role would suit someone who enjoys working in a structured, data-focused environment and is comfortable carrying out detailed, repetitive tasks with a high level of accuracy.
Experience in records management, data administration, information governance, compliance, or a similar administrative role would be beneficial. Strong attention to detail, sound decision-making skills, and the ability to work consistently with large volumes of information are essential.
What We’re Looking For
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office applications
- High standard of attention to detail whilst analysing, evaluating, and interpreting large volumes and sometimes sensitive data from a number of sources.
- Comfortable in making risk-based decisions based on the information reviewed.
- Excellent problem solving, communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience in conducting audits or reviews to meet required SLAs, ideally in a high-volume environment.
- Ideally experience of using Niche RMS and SharePoint
- Awareness of the Data Protection Act (2018)
