Recruitment Specialist Team Leader

Greater Manchester Police are looking for a dynamic Recruitment Specialist who will play a big part in a busy in-house Recruitment Team.  You will play a big part in supporting the established recruitment team that is continuously growing and improving.  You will need to be ready to take responsibility for the accurate processing of all requests relating to recruitment, dealing with line managers, liaising with stakeholders and placing adverts on our applicant tracking system, plus much more…..

You will ensure accuracy and compliance set against employment law, established GMP policies and procedural requirements of the full end to end workflow, processing vacancies within a variety of high profile recruitment processes.  You must be prepared to develop and maintain productive working relationships with customer groups, colleagues and business areas leads to provide an engaging customer experience to all prospective candidates, internal and external to GMP.   You will need to engage new hires and managers and ensure service expectations and tight deadlines are met. Whilst doing this you will work to the Recruitment Manager supporting them in respect of all matters relating to the delivery of recruitment services for Police Officers and Police Staff. You will provide day-to-day operational management of the recruitment activities relating to your specified recruitment portfolio whilst ensuring the wellbeing of the team members who work within that area of the recruitment profile.

Ideally you will have previous experience of how to supervise staff at an operational level, however we will consider candidates that have exceptional experience of the recruitment lifecycle and we would be willing to meet  the training needs of that candidate.   It is essential that you can remain calm under pressure and that you have the ability to keep a level head to direct your team to maintain beneficial working relationships with colleagues, members of our communities, clients and stakeholders alike.  If you are successful you will then need to keep your existing staff up to date with new training and then train all new staff in the ways of GMP working on new recruitment legislation, procedures or workflow, including developing our current team at their current level and onwards supervisory development.
