Applications are invited for the post of Public Protection Review Officer (PPRO) within the Bradford District Public Protection Team.

The PPU team is part of Safeguarding Partnerships, and this is an excellent opportunity to join a busy team in a varied and challenging role. A successful candidate would be expected to develop productive relationships with key partners, taking responsibility for their allocated nominals and strengthen their risk management abilities.

Successful applicants would be required to:
• be highly motivated, have excellent planning and organisational skills, and work as part of a team, without constant supervision.
• Provide a supportive role to police officer colleagues.
• Have the ability to manage a workload of Registered Sex Offenders, for whom the team has a statutory responsibility, as allocated by the PPU Sergeant.
• Work alongside partner agencies, within a multi-agency setting, attending meetings as required
• Understand and work within MAPPA guidance.
• Carry out thorough risk assessments, using these to inform risk management plans and updating as appropriate.
• Use Visor, OSP and ARMS assessment tools.
• Be flexible and have the ability to work varied shifts to accommodate meetings and manage workload effectively.

Essential Criteria and Expectations
This is a public facing role, so candidates would be required to complete the Empty Hand Skills training and have the ability to use a radio as well as undertaking and passing relevant training on West Yorkshire Police and National computerised databases and a Nationally accredited courses in the Management of Sexual and Violent Offenders (MOSOVO)
In addition, you would also be expected to undertake the PIP Level 1 investigators course and complete the associated portfolio to evidence your competency in investigations.
The role does requires evening and weekend working which attracts an unsocial hours payment and weekend enhancements and you must have the ability to travel and work throughout the Force.

Applicants are not expected to have previous experience of the above areas and training in role will be provided in line with national requirements.

The shift pattern is a four-weekly rota, with a combination of day and late shifts, with one working weekend in four. There is a degree of flexibility around shifts. Shift allowances will be payable appropriate to the shift pattern.
