Background to the Role
Met Business Services (MBS) is transforming how the Met delivers critical enabling services to every officer, staff member and supplier. We are a front‑line–focused organisation committed to reducing administrative burden, modernising our services and delivering intuitive, user‑centred, end‑to‑end solutions. By creating a single source of truth for HR, Finance, Commercial and support‑services data, MBS is establishing the foundations for a smarter, more efficient and more consistent Met.
MBS will help every person and supplier working with the Met by:
- Building a modern, efficient business‑services directorate that brings together specialist capability, strengthens HR, Finance and Commercial functions, and removes long‑standing functional silos.
- Designing end‑to‑end services shaped around user needs, not legacy processes, and integrating them seamlessly across teams and platforms.
- Delivering intuitive digital interfaces and ‘one‑touch’ services, using automation, low‑code workflows and contemporary technologies to make essential tasks simpler, faster and more consistent.
This is an exciting moment to join MBS. You will be part of a growing organisation at the centre of the Met’s transformation, directly supporting frontline policing and contributing to our mission of More Trust, Less Crime and High Standards. With strong organisational backing and a clear mandate for change, you will have opportunities to shape the way the Met operates, collaborate across multiple functions and deliver meaningful impact for London.
