Alliance Evidential Property Researcher (Dorset)
To interrogate the relevant Force and National computer systems, to include PNC, for evidential property that has been seized relating to crime and/or prosecution and establish recommendations for retention or disposal as appropriate.
To identify items of evidential property that are currently in store that are able to be disposed of by the capture of digital images and to recommend this appropriate disposal route.
To inform and liaise with the officer in the case making recommendations and advice with regard to the evidential property and its on-going management and if required making arrangements for the disposal of the evidential property.
To research any currently available and any new ways of identifying evidential property security marks that could be adopted by the Evidence Team and lead to early identification of ownership.
To closely liaise with Information Management team and other relevant departments to ensure most up to date legislation and guidance is available to the Researching role to ensure relevant compliance is maintained.
