FCIN Science Technical Specialist

FORENSIC COLLISION INVESTIGATION NETWORK – SCIENCE TECHNICAL SPECIALIST

We're looking for experienced professionals from a scientific, engineering or forensic background who want to help shape the future of forensic collision investigation across England and Wales. We are particularly keen to hear from those with expertise in areas such as:

  • Forensic video analysis
  • Vehicle systems forensics
  • On-scene forensic collision investigation
  • Scene reconstruction and modelling
  • Vehicle dynamics, including deceleration testing
  • Terrestrial laser scanning.

 

The Forensic Collision Investigation Network (FCIN) is a national collaboration hosted by North Wales Police. As a Science Technical Specialist, you will play a key role in developing and delivering the FCIN's scientific programme. Working collaboratively with specialists across policing, industry and academia, you will contribute to nationally significant projects, support the development and validation of scientific methods, and help ensure collision investigation is underpinned by robust science and meets regulatory requirements.

You'll be an experienced scientific, technical or forensic professional with strong analytical skills and a passion for applying science to solve real-world problems. You will be able to manage complex projects and communicate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders.

Additional Information 

  • Permanent contract with North Wales Police. 
  • Hybrid role, primarily home-based with regular travel to the National Test Centre in Cranfield and other locations across England and Wales. 
  • Two positions are available.
