Salary: The starting salary is £36,141, which includes allowances totalling £6,618
The salary is broken down as £29,523 basic salary, which will increase annually until you reach the top of the scale £31,582 Plus, a location allowance of £1,928 and a non-pensionable allowance of £1,000 and 12.5% Shift allowance

Security of New Scotland Yard is a function undertaken by the Parliamentary and Diplomatic Protection Command (PaDP).
The role holder will join a team of security officers providing front of house physical security duties including access control, visitor search and reception security. As a uniformed front of house security guard, you will regularly deal with incidents outside and some of these will involve confrontation with difficult and sometimes hostile people. You will need to be reliable, discrete and trustworthy with the ability to communicate professionally and diplomatically at all levels within the organisation as well as an ability to remain calm in sometimes stressful situations. You will be the first point of contact and create the first impression for officers, staff and visitors to the iconic Headquarters of the Metropolitan Police Service and therefore we are looking for people who uphold our values and exude professionalism.
Key Tasks
- Control Access to the Main entrance ensuring only authorized staff and visitors gain access.
- Provide a professional search regime for visitors searching people and property.
- Provide support and facilitate safe movement in the event of an evacuation.
- Ensure compliance with all internal security procedures.
- Working with police Officer colleagues to maintain the safe and secure operation of New Scotland Yard
